The contents of the last phone conversation between Choi Jin Shil and a magazine reporter was made known to the public. Choi Jin Shil is believed to have ended her life shortly after ending the phone conversation.

Reporter Kim revealed, “When Baek’s identity was traced and revealed two days later, Choi Jin Shil called me up again but felt more depressed.”
Choi Jin Shil told me, “Since they have found the person who spread the rumors about the debt, I thought that people would now believe my truth (her innocence). But at the To-ron message board many people chose to believe the rumors rather than the truth. Even now many people still believe that I am the evil/vicious loan-shark who drove Ahn Jae Hwan to his death.”
“I am [very] scared (lit. trembling). If it continues to go on like this, I really think that I am going to die”, Choi said over the phone.
Choi Jin Shil then continued, “If I die, then would they believe my truth? Even though my name is ‘Choi Jin Shil (means truth)’ people are calling me ‘Choi Ga Shik (means fake).’ Isn’t this really sad? Although I am sorry to my children, instead of being a mother that is shunned/scorned/pointed the finger/blame by the people of the world, wouldn’t it be better to be a mother whose truth was revealed after dying.” Her intentions being made clear.
Reporter Kim told Choi Jin Shil’s family to keep a close watch of Choi Jin Shil since she (Choi) had told him that she wanted to die, but the day when Choi Jin Shil came home, after speaking with her mom she went to the bathroom and told her mother that she was okay and for her to go to bed.

She seems to have dropped many hints to a lot of people before she finally took her life. There are 3 of them now, incl. this reporter. The first 2 were her manager and her personal assistant/make-up artist (I can’t remember too clearly).
Aside from the reporter who probably doesn’t really care much about her life, I wonder why didn’t the other 2 people take notice and prevent her from being alone until this rumour dies down? Don’t they care? Am I missing something??

Why didn’t anyone stop her if there were such blatant signs? Of course, we always say that after the fact, but gosh, that is so sad that she felt her death would prove her innocence. May she rest in peace.
i feel so sad for the kids, but i equally feel sad for her. i can understand how important it was for her to prove her innocence. she must have felt dying was the last resort. how sad. for someone to give up life to stop the malicious gossips, where has the korean society come to!

This was my translation of the article that I tried to do word for word. I added some of your parts that I thought worked better and that I didn’t quite understand.

It bothers me that such a wonderful person as CJS had to take her own life for such a meagre issue. May her soul Rest in Peace. 😦 However I am much more concerned with her two poor kids. I felt like crying for these two innocent beautiful children who can never have the real mother’s love anymore.
I can only pray that Choi Jin Shil’s son and daughter grow up to be wonderful persons like their late mother. Amen! 😦
