Edison Chen “celebrity sex scandal” gets reported on CNN

Despite the message by “Kira” that he/she would release 600 photos plus the video, there were no signs of it on the first day of Chinese New Year which left many disappointed who had been stalking the various forums the whole day.

Meanwhile, the scandal which has been the top story in Hong Kong for the past week got reported on CNN recently and even more people knows about it now.

And there were many fake posts yesterday posted among the many forums stating that they have got the video, new pictures of so and so but they were nothing but frauds who was just trying to cash in on the publicity and increase hits to their own forum/blog which is really a shame. There was a video but it was just an animation pieced together from the various screenshots released earlier to resemble a flash animation sort of clip.

Meanwhile, singer Cathy Leung was wrongly identified as one of the woman (unknown02) in the 251.rar. It has now been ascertained that it was Mandy Chen Yu Ju instead. She got to know Edison Chen in 2001 while she was participating in a beauty pageant and he was one of the performers that night. She was in the industry for a while but has since left. This brings to the number of starlets that has been exposed in this scandal to six.

Vincy Yeung despite her uncle, Albert Yeung denying that they were ever together, continued giving her support to Edison and refused comment on the matter. Bobo Chan’s marriage is confirmed to be over as her future mother-in-law was furious with her involvement in the matter and ordered his son to cancel the wedding. Gillian Chung suicide attempt #2 was denied again by her group mate, Charlene Choi and manager during a public event yesterday. Cecilia’s mother-in-law and Nicholas Tse mother, Deborah is praying to the gods for the matter to be over as soon as possible.

  1. From this incident, this rich kid has managed to destroyed the careers and possible marriage of all the female artists involved, which they all worked very hard for. He definitely should NOT be allowed to be involved in the entertainment industry anymore! This music industry WILL carry on without him, he is not needed! To be honest, He is NOT that talented anymore, he’s only here because he has money! The longer he stays around, the longer people remember this incident and gives a bad reputation to other artists! I urge all music labels and TV/radio stations to isolate him because he is simply not sorry. What he said in his video is probably taught by lawyers. Even I know that and you see it in Hollywood movies. Good bye Rich and Inch kid! Go back to America and you can carry on and pretend to be black!

  2. i need to argue from the other stand point of view for #1.i think Edison is really sorry for the incident judging from his gaze on the VDO. However, it might have been another acting. who knows?

    he just coudn’t say it straight that he made an apologize.it would represent the full acceptance that it’s really him and others celebs in the pix. what he did was he tried to keep it in the middle…it’s better than nothing.

    however, i do agree that he’d be isolated and kicked out from the industry rite away. he’s too nasty to be on. Photographing the girls during the times ,and showing off to others are too unccecptable, and not so manly.

  3. @1, Uh… I’m not a huge fan of Edison (he can’t act or sing, and comes off as an asshole most of the time), but it’s not like he somehow coerced all those girls to suck his dick. Grow the hell up. They knew they were being photographed, and they are not free from the burden of exposure. And let’s stop pretending that anyone in the entertainment industry is innocent and pure. If people would abandon that illusion, this stupid sex scandal wouldn’t even be a scandal.

But other than that, i don’t see any fault in him in this event … the girls in the pics do not seem like they were forced to engage in anything with him … taking pics or videos during sex can sound odd to some, but not unheard of … so what’s the bashing of edison for? had he purposely leaked or posted the pics himself .. then i would agree he’s a loser … but this is not the case ….. so … the way i see it, edison is equally a victim of all this just like gillian and cecilia …

  18. I think in these day , we can see that most of the people are so keen on asking for photo, many people are asking for ’email me’ or ‘sent me’,’can I have this’etc.

    I think we won’t be able to know what is the real motif of Edison chen’s action. But what is the more clear phenomeno that show out now, is the desire that drive the web-users go for it.

    We never see people pay such a lot attention for education , races or government policy etc, but with sex scandal,yes! Because any thing that related with sex, will attracted a lot attention, people excited in it so that they found some kind of ‘replacement’ in it, that they have their desire come forward project by others. even when they condemt those actor are dirty ,immoral etc, they choose not to see into the fact that they have unfulfiled desire , but still, by forwarding the photo, looking at the photot , they feel so excited, why? Should the claiming or ‘dirty’ should fall back to their own that they don’t want to admit it?

    so many people indulged in sending the photo without litttle conscienceness of how they became part of the media running machine that can squize a real person life. Discussing about whether the pic real or not is really meaningless, because whether it real or not, you are actually ruining some others people’s real life.

    I am very pesimis about how it will end up. It must be end up with somebody die. If this happen, those people who enthutiased on sending photo,will they felt guilty? will they realised that photo even live longer than human’s life in Web world? do they know they had became part of the KIRA ? do they know that a photo that go on duplicated and sending in web world can live longer than human’s life? what for going on hustle and bustle about it?

  39. First, contrary to the established laws, celebrity life is PUBLIC. When you have pictures of female starlets having sex with you, and you are careless with your data, you are stupid to expect nothing to happen. The HK Police can waste taxpayer’s money and time to prosecute the people who distribute the photos, but the execution of such a dumb law does not make them right.

    Personally, I get a kick when celebrities screw themselves over with stupid acts like this. My wish is for this Kira character to release more photos when things are just about to die down – don’t let it stop! I want to see the careers and life of the starlets to die. Hopefully, we will get some suicide attempts, mental breakdowns, etc…After all, these celebrities are here to entertain us, and this is better than watching a movie.

  40. Also, to think that HK Police have enlisted the help of Interpol, HK have become a joke to this world. Why should Interpol waste its time to protect a HK local celebrity, one who would not register as a celebrity on the international level? On what basis are they requesting this help? Is it to try to stop the spread of these photos? If this is the case, they might infringe on laws of other countries as they are restricting information. HK Police are amateurs who can be corrupted easily by the rich.

  44. He has no reason to apologize to the public. It is a lifestyle that he chose and the female stars consented to participate. who are we to judge? And as for whether he should remain in the entertainment industry, we all make the call. The industry thrives on gossip and whatever attracts people like all of us to buy into the gossip, we SUSTAIN the industry. If you want him kicked out, then don’t pay attention to him, don’t promote his fame by always talking about him.

    Why are people getting so angry at everything? Celebrities are people too. So edison was negligent in taking care of his pictures, but people do make mistakes.
