Goo Hye Sun Feeling The Burden of Being a High-Schooler

Boys Before Flowers will see Goo Hye Sun playing a leading role. She expressed, “It would be a lie if I said I was not feeling the burden.”

The Korean version sees Goo Hye Sun playing Yeon Woo who is an average girl and whose family owns dry-cleaning shop that is located near the luxurious and well-known Shin Hwa College. Yeon Woo meets the four richest spoilt boys when she delivers laundry to the school one day. The boys are known as F4 and causes trouble to those who dares to oppose them. More surprises are in store for F4 when Yeon Woo surprisingly enters the college for studies.

Goo Hye Sun have participated in two period dramas in King and I and Strongest Chil-Woo in the earlier part of 2008. Both saw her acting in roles that were more mature than her actual age. However, for Boys Before Flowers, she will be wearing school uniforms and play a high-school girl.

Goo Hye Sun expressed, “It would be a lie if I said I was not feeling the burden. But I feel that I can assimilate myself into the role as time goes by. I have never been more happy just preparing myself for the role. I hope that this drama will meet everyone’s expectations and I will give it my best effort.”

In other casting news that’s confirmed, Han Go Eun will play Goo Joon Pyo’s (Lee Min Ho) sister while Han Chae Young has been confirmed in a cameo role as Yoon Ji Hoo’s (Kim Hyun Joong) first love. The 24 episodes Boy Before Flowers is likely to air just before 2008 ends in December on KBS2TV.

  1. I expect a lot and i hope this drama can really meet up to Hana Yori dango standard or better… can’t wait to see hyun joong acting for 1st time.

  2. I can’t wait to see this….Gu Hye Sun can totally do this…I got a girl in my middle school who looks just like her lol

  3. the taiwan version is really great and so is japan…

since many fans anticipate the korean version,
i hope they will do great as well..

    fighting!!!

  4. hi Sierra,

I’m not Korean but somehow I share the same opinion as your friends. I think it’s cos I 1st saw her in Pure 19 and her character totally rubbed me the wrong way round. and i think it’s similar to the Makino role. so I think she’ll do it well. Oh well, despite her not being a fave of mine, I think she’s a good actress.

  5. I hope the drama is extremely good.
But I doubt that it’ll surpass Hana Yori Dango Japanese version.
I hope they prove m wrong haha.

  6. ahhh, poor thing but i seriously think she can act at a high schooler she looks so young and so convincing as of now but yeah… i am super excited for this dramas i mean 2009 seems like a lot of GOOD dramas are coming out dramas that i am actually interesting in watching…

  7. Not really expecting much from GHS but SOO glad they chose Han Chae Young to be the Korean version of Rui’s first love. She’s just the right person, beautiful, sexy, and confident.

  8. she was the reason why the korean version never surpassed the japanese version for me. if they had chosen another LESS annoying actress..well, the japanese makino was the best so i think the actress of any other nationality to play the role would have been so much better than mao inoue since that girl has set pretty high standards.
