MBC “Beethoven Virus” and KBS “Kingdom of the Winds” will clash starting 10th September, next Wednesday as they start their broadcast. Current SBS drama “Working Mom” is unlikely to pose much of a threat to them with their follow-up drama “Painter of the Wind” at a severe disadvantage by then, a whole two weeks behind their rivals who would have build up a viewer base.
Both MBC “Beethoven Virus” and KBS “Kingdom of the Winds” started their PR blitz this week with trailers and promotional posters, with press conferences to follow shortly. KBS will raise the stakes with a special tomorrow where viewers will get a glimspe of the 45-days filming footage in China.
Song Il Kook plays Muhyul, Jumong’s grandson and the third son of King Yuri. He is often referred to as Daemusin of Goguryeo, one of the greatest in Korean history having conquered the largest land territory for the longest period. He is also heralded as a “war god” for his destiny in transcending fate and love.
“Beethoven Virus” has been hailed as the Korean version of Nodame Cantabile.

So who will win the ratings war? My weekends will probably be occupied. It’s a tough call but I am guessing “Kingdom of the Winds” will just edge it.
