“On Air” has been receiving lots of love from viewers thanks to their accurate portrayal behind what goes into producing a drama. But it has recently suffered criticism particularly from the broadcasting industry.
Big-wigs from the Korean broadcast industry has voiced their dismay in a weekly PD magazine on 22nd April claiming, “On Air drama has irresponsibly twisted some facts and if they don’t make an apology immediately, we will take a hardline stand towards this using any possible action available.”
They felt that in the episode shown on 17th April, the scene where the filming director working together with director Lee Kyung Min was over-dramatic in using the cameras to peep at Oh Seung Ah’s legs and thus twisting the truth.
They pointed out, “In any normal drama production, this scene is totally non-existent and doesn’t happen at all. This is an insult to the reputation of filming directors and we can’t just sit and do nothing about this.”
With regards to this complaint, the production of “On Air” said, “We haven’t received any official complaints and we definitely don’t have any intentions of defaming the reputation of certain jobs. If there’s any inappropriateness on our part, we would like to express our apologies.”
