No Definite Broadcast Date for Korean Hana Yori Dango Broadcast

The last we heard from Group Eight, in charge of producing the Korean version of Hana Yori Dango was that they had extended the casting process earlier last month and would announce the official casting list by 28th August. An entire week has gone by without any announcement. What has happened?

The drama was to start filming at the end of the year and show it next January. But Group Eight has encountered much difficulties with the casting (especially), organization, etc which has scuppered the plans and they are now looking to release it in Spring 2009 (which is still subject to change) instead.

Another new development was that Group Eight will be 100% in charge of the production and the broadcast station will only be occupied with just airing the drama. A KBS source revealed, “Because of delays encountered by the production, we will omit the drama from the original scheduled date.”
