Been laying off playing the game for a few weeks since the patch was released as the novelty of the game worn off for me. But after watching Newcastle drawing Arsenal at St. James Park in midweek which was a cracking game if you are a Magpies fan like me, it’s back to playing the game again. But before that, I went shopping for new skins and found some which might interest you.
Xenon v1.1 (mac style) – Filefront | Rapidshare
I absolutely love this skin. Everything about the colors just seems so right. You will feel right at home with this Macintosh-style skin. I really can’t find any fault with this. Kudos to the author for this excellent work.
FMD-ark Skin – devianART (Search for the download button)
This is a very nice-looking professional skin with brightly-lit attribute colors. Background makes any color pictures stand out and is very light on the eyes. Simple and elegant!
Steklo (Glass) 2008 v1.2 – Filefront | Sortitoutsi
Fantastic skin that comes with both left and right hand side versions, each with a choice of 3 backgrounds, either grass, a black lacquered wood effect or a vista style backdrop. Used the 2007 version of this often.
Ensure that all extracted files go to C:\Documents and Settings\”username”\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\skins.

how do you get the 3 different steklo ones, i downloaded it but i could only play with the black one, any reasons why?
if u extracted it to the correct folder, all three steklo options should show up when u are choosing the skins.
u chat barea bollocks how long did u take on doing this u neek..
can anyone help me the thing is i use my laptop to play football manager which doesnt have the internet as i like to keep it fast, so am using my pc just now bit when i d.load the skins an try 2 copy them 2 a blank disk it says windows encountered a problem so does anyone no how 2 fix it so i can copy them on 2 the disk then i can use the skins on my laptop? thanks
@wullie, how about a thumbdrive? i don’t really see why you can’t burn them to disc which is really weird.
coolsmurf thanks for your reply whats a thumbdrive lol dont really no alot about computers. anno its a pain a can’t copy them 2 a disk gettn sick of these old skins!!
@wullie, it’s a gadget which u can read about here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive that enables you to transfer date to and fro between computers. it has replaced diskettes and cd-roms as a fast go-between.
Hi coolsmurf,
I know you’re been getting quite a lot of these types of questions… so sorry for adding to them!
But I’m having the same problem with applying skins as a lot of people. Then something you said (on another page) caught my attention.
You said that Sports Interactive have already created a ’skins’ folder in the ‘Football Manager 08′ folder.
I didn’t have that folder, I just presumed I had to create it.
Is this right? Should I have a folder called ’skins’ already created? And if I don’t have one, what does this mean?
If you get this, and feel like it, lol, maybe you could drop me a comment here, it’d be very much appreciated!
Thanks man.
regardless of whether there is a skins folder already or not, just create if there is not, or go along if there is. and then extract the skin files to the folder.
nice info for the skins. ah, you are a Magpies fan too.. finally a win last week.. let’s cross our finger for next match .. yeah
hope u post more about fm. thanks.
