Jerry Yan, Xiao Zhu & Wu Zhun set to collide in basketball drama, Hot Shots

The filming of idol drama, Hot Shots (篮球火) started on 21st November after three years of preparation plus an estimated 6,000 thousand NT invested by CTV & GTV. The show boasts of an stellar line-up with hot idols, Jerry Yan, Xiao Zhu and Wu Zhun expected to play key roles.

Jerry Yan is the original idol magnet and still commands a huge following. Xiao Zhu started as a idol, experienced a mid-career slump but is now on the up as a excellent host/singer. Wu Zhun is the up-and-coming idol who is gathering momentum with his charisma and good looks. Will there be a clash of egos on the set? That’s one interesting thought.

In the drama, Jerry and Wu Zhun are both basketball prodigies while Xiaozhu is one that posseses incredible jumping ability. Sounds super familiar to the famous Japanese manga, Slam Dunk isn’t it? Model turned host and now actress, Jiang Yi plays the female lead and she is one tall beauty and complements the lead actors well whoever becomes her love.

Once saw before MVP Lover which starred 5566 few years ago and it was interesting until it focused so much on love instead of basketball that I got turned off. Hopefully this would score big on basketball action instead and not so much on love. But seeing how Taiwanese dramas always turn out in the end, I shudder to think it would be anything else though.
